Alpes.
The data foundation Built, managed & optimised
by The Summit.

Your data is everywhere, siloed, inconsistent and untrusted. Every decision you make is only as good as the data behind it. ALPES gives you a clean, unified, reliable data layer.

From nothing to a fully operational data foundation. In a week.

track record

Battle-tested. Not theoretical.

ALPES is running live across clients in family office, investing, fund, trust and healthcare.

The Summit has been building data warehouses since before Microsoft Fabric existed. ALPES is the product of that experience.

Proven in production, continuously refined.

Once Alpes is live, the next step is transforming and modelling your data.

Whether with The Summit or your own team, you can build from raw ingestion through to clean, structured data products. And from there, to reporting, analytics, and AI. Each step builds on the last.

challenges

Building a data foundation is harder than it looks.

No golden source, reports contradict each other.

Your reports contradict each other. Your systems don't talk. You know you need a single, trusted version of your data. The problem is building it.

The skills are scarce and the costs are real.

Data warehousing is a specialist discipline. Finding engineers who can do it properly is hard. Hiring them permanently is expensive. A build done wrong costs more to fix than it did to build. It requires a dedicated team and ongoing investment to keep it current.

Every month you wait, the gap widens.

AI is moving fast. Businesses that can act on their data are pulling ahead. Every month without a reliable data foundation is a month your competitors are using theirs. The cost of waiting is no longer just technical. It is competitive.

What is Alpes

Your data, connected, centralised and flowing. What comes next is up to you.

ALPES is a managed ETL platform

It connects to your data sources, extracts and structures your data, and keeps it flowing through a monitored, scheduled pipeline. Built on Microsoft Fabric, managed and maintained by The Summit.

Microsoft Fabric is the canvas

Alpes is what The Summit has built on it. Years of data warehousing experience, distilled into a pre-engineered, proven implementation. You get the benefit of that experience from day one, without building it yourself.

Clean, structured data.

What you get is clean, structured data moving reliably from your source systems into a single managed layer. In a week. Once it is in place, your team can build on it: analytics, reporting, AI models, management accounts. For businesses with AI ambitions, this is the starting point. Clean data is the prerequisite. Without it, nothing performs.

Hosted in your environment.

Alpes runs entirely within your own Microsoft Azure environment. Your data never leaves your infrastructure. The Summit manages the platform remotely, and your security and governance policies remain in place throughout.

WHAT ALPES IS

A managed ETL platform.

Data sources connected, pipelines built, data structured and flowing. Monitored, scheduled, and maintained by The Summit. Operational in a week.

WHAT ALPES IS not

Reporting suites or AI models.

Those are built on top of Alpes. That is the next step. Alpes is what makes it possible.

The JOURNEY

Your fast path to a live data platform.

Step 1 - Prepare

Before deployment begins, we onboard The Summit team and work with your IT to commission
the infrastructure. Microsoft Fabric environment, Azure capacity, and data gateways all need to be in place. Timelines depend on your IT team and environment. Once access is granted and infrastructure is live, we deploy.

Step 2 - Deploy

The Summit deploys the Alpes platform into your Microsoft Fabric environment. This is not a blank canvas setup. Alpes is a pre-built, production-ready codebase. Infrastructure configured, pipelines established, core data sources connected. By day five, your data is ingested and flowing. The foundation is live.

Step 3 - Scale

As your business grows, Alpes grows with it. The platform is built so that adding new tables and data sources is a configuration change, not a development project. Your team can do it, or The Summit can. Either way, it is fast.

Step 4 - Accelerate

With data flowing, your team can start building. Analytics, reporting, AI models, management accounts. The Summit can take you there too. We already know your data. That continuity matters.

The SERVICE

A managed service, not a one-off project.

Always running

Once Alpes is live, The Summit runs it. Platform management, monitoring, and routine optimisations are included in your monthly fee. No internal headcount. No technical debt.

Always current

As Microsoft Fabric evolves, so does Alpes. The Summit handles routine improvements and incremental updates as part of the service. Your data foundation stays current without you lifting a finger.

Always growing

The platform is built to expand. Adding new tables or data sources is a configuration change, not a development project. Your team can do it, or The Summit can. Either way, it is fast.

Frequently asked questions

What is a data lakehouse?

A data lakehouse combines the flexibility of a data lake with the structure and reliability of a data warehouse. It gives your business a single platform to store, manage, and query all your data at scale, whether structured or unstructured.

What architecture does Alpes use?

Alpes is built on a medallion architecture, using bronze, silver, and gold data layers. Raw data is ingested at the bronze layer, cleaned and standardised at the silver layer, and structured for business use at the gold layer. This ensures data quality, traceability, and reliability throughout.

What is ETL and why does it matter?

ETL stands for extract, transform, load. It is the process of pulling data from your source systems, cleaning and structuring it, and loading it into your data foundation. Alpes handles all ETL as part of the managed service. Without a reliable ETL layer, nothing built on top of it will perform consistently.

What technology does Alpes run on?

Alpes is built on Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft's unified data and analytics platform. It integrates natively with Power BI, Azure, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

How long does deployment take?

Most clients are live with data flowing through Alpes within a week of onboarding, including full infrastructure setup, data source connections, and initial ingestion.

Do we need an internal data engineering team?

No. Alpes is fully managed by The Summit. The platform fee covers Alpes itself. Ongoing support and any development or integration work sit under separate engagements. You only pay for what you need.

What is included in the monthly service fee?

Platform management, routine optimisations, and core system improvements as the technology evolves. Integration of new data sources or major architectural changes is scoped separately. Clients are responsible for their own Microsoft Fabric compute costs, billed directly by Microsoft. You always know what you are paying for.

Is Alpes suitable for regulated industries?

Yes. Alpes is live across family office and investing, fund and trust administration, and healthcare. Regulated environments where data integrity and auditability matter.

How does Alpes support AI readiness?

AI models require clean, consistent, well-structured data to produce reliable outputs. Alpes provides exactly that. Once your foundation is in place, you have the data layer needed to build AI models, automation, and advanced analytics you can trust.

Is our data secure and does it stay within our environment?

Yes. Alpes is deployed directly into your own Microsoft Azure environment. Your data never leaves your infrastructure. The Summit manages the platform remotely but has no access to your data outside of agreed support arrangements.

Can our own team work with Alpes?

Yes. Alpes is designed to be used by your team as well as ours. Once the platform is live, your developers or data team can connect new sources, build on the data layer, and develop their own analytics, reporting, or AI models on top of it. The Summit is there when you need us. You are never locked in.
